Attention, Seniors! It's time to choose and paint your parking spot for the 2025 - 26 school year!
For reference, here are the key steps:
NOTE: All items and payments must be submitted by Thursday Aug. 7, 2025 at 11:59pm in order to be approved for painting on August 9 & 10, 2025
Complete the Painting Contract and submit along with your planned design
Pay the fee (or purchase a parking package) at the Vista Ridge Project Grad Store
Purchase a parking permit from the school by completing the steps on the VRHS Parking Permit Application
Once you have submitted the required info, paid the fee, purchased a parking permit from LISD, and your design is approved by an AP you will receive an email with the link to select your spot
Painting day will be Saturday & Sunday, August 9 & 10, 2025 from 7am - 3pm. After this date, painting is done on your own time - once your design has been approved and you have selected your spot
If there is a weather dilemma, there will be a TBD make-up date
PARKING LOT PHOTOS FOR REFERENCE
PAINTING DAY - Suggestions for things to bring
Canopy/Shade - It gets hot out there
Water to drink, possibly snacks and a cooler
Sunscreen
Chairs for breaks
Gardening pads to sit on while your painting
Broom - to sweep off your spot so your paint/primer adhere
Tape measure, yardstick, and/or rulers
Blue tape for masking
Chalk for marking
At least a gallon of your base color or primer - There's lots of divots in the pavement so it takes more paint to cover a parking spot than the same size interior wall. Standard parking space is~8x17 = 136ft2
Appropriate amounts of your other colors
Paint can opener
Roller frames and rollers (deeper nap rollers will fill the concrete more easily)
A long pole that screws into the roller frame handle (your backs will appreciate this for painting large areas)
Paint tray and liners for switching colors
Rollers, brushes, and trays of various sizes depending on your design. Plastic take out trays work well for small rollers.
Stencils and or templates if appropriate
Buckets, water, paper towels, and trash bags for clean-up
